01
Submit your enquiry

Click the secure link and complete a quick selfie liveness check. Your identity is verified against Department of Home Affairs records.
04
Bank verification & resolution
Once identity is verified, your bank account is optionally confirmed. A formal report is generated and the enquiry is resolved.

Six categories of unclaimed money

Many South Africans are unaware of money owed to them across multiple institutions and fund types.

SARS tax refunds
Overpaid PAYE, outstanding refunds, and forgotten returns from previous years. Many employees overpay each year without knowing.
Most common claim
Pension & provident funds
Old employer contributions and provident fund balances left when changing jobs. These accumulate interest and are fully recoverable.
High value
Life & funeral policies
Forgotten or inherited insurance policies that have never been claimed. Beneficiaries often don't know policies exist.
Often overlooked
Dormant bank accounts
Inactive accounts and unclaimed deposits held by financial institutions. Under law these must be reported and returned.
Banking sector
Deceased estate balances
Unclaimed inheritance, estate balances, and assets belonging to deceased relatives that heirs are unaware of.
Estate recovery
Investment & unit trust
Forgotten unit trust investments, share dividends, and unclaimed distributions from asset managers and stockbrokers.

Common questions

How much does the service cost?
FSCA operates on a success-fee basis — you pay nothing unless we successfully recover money for you. Our fee is a percentage of the recovered amount, agreed upfront before any work begins. There are no hidden charges or upfront costs.
How long does the process take?
Timelines vary by claim type. SARS tax refunds typically take 6–12 weeks. Pension fund claims can take 3–6 months depending on the fund administrator. We provide regular progress updates throughout and always keep you informed.
Is my personal information safe?
Absolutely. FSCA is fully POPIA compliant and uses 256-bit SSL encryption for all data transmission. Your personal information is used solely for the purpose of tracing and recovering your benefits and is never sold or shared with third parties.
What documents do I need to provide?
Typically a certified copy of your South African ID, a recent proof of residence, and your banking details for payment. For deceased estate claims, we'll need additional documentation such as a death certificate and letters of executorship. We'll guide you step by step.
Can you help with claims on behalf of a deceased family member?
Yes — estate and beneficiary claims are a significant part of what we do. We work with executors, heirs, and next-of-kin to trace and recover assets belonging to deceased persons. Contact us to discuss your specific situation.
